Monitoring -

Principal monitoring programs have included woodland ride management in Kent and Gloucestershire (RSPB), grazing reduction in the uplands (RSPB), moorland management in the uplands (RSPB), burning and mowing on lowland heathland (CCW), habitat translocation (CEH) and use of green waste to create grassland habitats (Bangor University).

Recent research has focused on the ecohydrological requirements of floodplain grassland (OU) and dune slack (CEH) species.

Monitoring programs usually involve the recording of fix point quadrats repeated over a number of years and the statistical analyses of these data using both multivariate techniques through Juice and PcOrd and standard statistical programmes (Systat).
